Initiative for Human Nutrition & Sustainability
At HUMNS, we believe the future of human wellness lies at the intersection of nutrition, emotional health and sustainable living. We are building a research infrastructure that enables researchers, universities, and healthcare institutions to transform real-world health data into evidence-based discoveries. Our mission is to advance the science of the gut-brain connection and unlock new approaches to personalised preventive healthcare for future generations.

The Research Gap
Emotional wellness, human nutrition and environmental sustainability are three of the most interconnected yet most separately addressed pillars of human health and planetary wellbeing. Millions of people manage anxiety, depression and mood disorders without ever being asked what they eat, and even fewer consider how their food choices impact the world around them.
The gut produces 95% of the body's serotonin. Yet nutritional psychiatry remains underfunded and underrepresented in clinical practice, largely due to the absence of large-scale, real-world datasets that can bridge the gap between research and patient care. Meanwhile, the environmental cost of what we eat remains invisible to most consumers and institutions alike.
HUMNS is purpose-built to close these gaps. We are building the research infrastructure to track how health conditions, dietary habits, mood states, lifestyle choices and sustainability behaviours interact across real populations, giving researchers, clinicians, policymakers and institutions the evidence they need to drive meaningful change for both people and planet.
What We Study
As HUMNS grows, here is how we plan to turn real-world user data into research-grade insights that benefit individuals, institutions and the wider scientific community across nutrition, emotional wellness and sustainability.
We investigate the relationship between nutrition, mood, health conditions, and the gut-brain connection to advance precision nutrition research. Our vision is to generate scientific evidence that enables more personalised dietary recommendations and expands access to evidence-based preventive healthcare worldwide.
Our collaborative AI agents help analyse longitudinal health, mood, and nutrition data to uncover patterns, generate evidence, and support researchers in developing more personalised preventive health interventions.
We explore how personalised nutrition can improve individual health while encouraging more sustainable food choices. Our research examines the intersection of human health, dietary behaviour, and environmental impact.
We believe the biggest breakthroughs happen through collaboration. HUMNS works towards partnering with universities, healthcare organisations, and researchers to generate real-world evidence and advance the understanding of nutrition, mood, and preventive health.
Our Data Pipeline
Individuals can voluntarily consent to contribute their health, nutrition, and mood data to support scientific research and advance preventive healthcare.
All personal data is anonymised by removing or replacing direct identifiers before being securely prepared for research in line with recognised privacy standards, including GDPR and HIPAA principles.
Approved universities, healthcare institutions, and research partners can access anonymised datasets to investigate nutrition, mood, health conditions, and preventive health outcomes.
Research findings help advance precision nutrition science and support the development of future evidence-based preventive healthcare solutions for wider populations.

For Research Institutions
HUMNS products study the relationship between precision nutrition and health and mood, tailoring insights to individual health conditions and emotional state.
Access structured, GDPR-compliant datasets. Anonymised data helps study the relationship between nutrition and mood findings are published only in aggregate form that does not identify you.
Track mood and nutritional trends across months or years, enabling robust longitudinal and observational studies.
Research Partnerships
We are actively seeking partnerships with universities, nutritional science departments, and mental health research institutions. Reach out to explore how HUMNS data can power your next study.
